Applications are invited by Indian Institute of Handloom Technology, Salem from eligible candidates of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Puducherry and Goa for First year and lateral entry (direct 2nd year) under Management quota admission to B.Tech.(Handloom&Textile Technology) Programme for the academic year2017-18.

FIRST YEAR ADMISSION FOR 4 YEARS DEGREE PROGRAMME B.TECH HANDIOOM & TEXTILE TECHNOLOGY
Qualifying examination and eligibility : A pass in the HSC (Academic) or its equivalent. A minimum of 50% average marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together. When the candidates produce grade certificate, they have to produce the actual marks also, otherwise only the minimum marks applicable to the grades in the eligible subjects (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry) will be taken into account. For minimum eligibility, Improvement marks will not be considered
Seat Allocation : Andhra Pradesh -07, Karnataka -10, Kerala -10, Puducherry-02,Goa-01
Selection Criteria : The selection will be based on merit of the marks obtained in the prescribed subjects reduced to 200 (Mathematics - 100, Physics + Chemistry -100) in the qualifying examination. All the candidates will be considered underopen competition
Age Limit : Maximum Age limit 25 years
Nativity : Candidates who have passed VIII, IX, X, XI &XII in the respective State need not enclose the Nativity Certificate. Native candidates of any of the above States who have passed VIII, IX, X, XI & XII or their equivalent examination from schools situated outside their state can also apply. They should enclose a copy of Nativity Certificate
LATERAL ENTRY ADMISSION (DIRCT 2nd YEAR) FOR 4 YEARS B.TECH. (HANDLOOM & TEXTILE TECHNOLOGY)
Qualifying Examination and eligibility: Candidates who have passed Diploma in Handloom Technology / Handloom & Textile Technology / Textile Technology / B.Sc. with ancillary subject of Mathematics at B.Sc. level or studied Mathematics at +2 level or any equivalent Diploma as prescribed by Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Tamilnadu are eligible to apply.
Minimum eligible marks: Candidates who have secured a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in Diploma / Degree are eligible to apply.
Seat allocation : A total No. of 29 seats are available for the state of Andhrapradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Puducherry, and Goa
Selection Criteria: Selection will be based on the merit of percentage of marks obtained by the candidates in Diploma / B.Sc. Degree course.
