Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up of the following positions for the externally funded projects in the Regional Research Laboratory, Thiruvananthapuram a constituent laboratory of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (SIR)

Category I: DRDO Project "Phytochemical investigation on sea buckthorn field research laboratory"

1. Jr.Project Fellow: 1 Position

Category II: DRDO Project " In search of anti-malarial principles from indigeneous flora"

1. Jr.Project Fellow: 1 Position

Qualifications: I st class M.Sc., Chemistry / Bio-Chemistry / Bio-Technology.

Desirable: Experience in PhytoChemistry for category I & II.

Category III: STED Project titled " Resource mapping and product diversification for modernisation of kerala tiles industry".

1. Jr.Project Fellow : 1 Position

Qualification: I st class M.L.I.Sc. Experience : two years in Special Library.

Desirable: Training / proven knowledge in computerised information systems & services. NET qualified in library & Information science.

Category IV: DST Project entitled "Design of novel thiacalix(4) arenas as metal binding ligands in solvant extraction.

1. Sr.Project Fellow: 1 Position

Qualification: I st class M.Sc., in pure / applied / organic chemistry. Preferable NET Qualified.

Category V: ministry of Science & Technology Project entitled " Development and application of food enzymes".

1. Sr.Project Fellow : 1 Position

Qualification: I st Class M.Sc., in Bio Technology / Microbiology / Bio Chemistry with two years research experience or I st Class M.Tech or equivalent in Bio Chemical Engg / Bio Technology.

2. Jr.Project Fellow : 1 Position

Qualification: Ist Class M.Sc., in Biotechnology / Microbiology / BioChemistry OR Ist Class B.Tech or equivalent in BioChemical Engineering / Bio Technology.

Desirable: Candidates with NET/GATE (80% and above) and proven R&D capability by having publications in relevant field will be given preference.

Category VI: project entitled "Development of a sustainable process for the recovery of capable caluable chemicals / materials from red mud"

1. Sr.Project Fellow: 2 Position

Qualifications: Ist class B.Tech, with two years experience or Ist class M.Tech in Chemical Engg / process metallurgy / mineral processing from a reputed University. Candidates with Industrial reserch experience would be preferred.

1. Jr.Project Fellow : 2 Position

Qualifications: Ist class M.Sc., in Applied / Pure / Inorganic Chemistry from a reputed University.

Category VII:DST project entitled "Chiral IIChrial electronic gels and helical nano structures : self assembly of conjugated molecules to photo active organics materials"

1. Project Associate: 1 Position

Qualifications: M.Sc., Chemistry with Ph.D. in Organic / Photo Chemistry / Polymer Chemistry. Desirable: Experience in supramolecular chemistry.

2. Jr.Project Fellow: 1 Position

Qualifications: I st class Chemistry with NET or GATE (80% and above)

Desirable: Experience in the synthesis of organic molecules.

Category VIII: Gaint-in-aid scheme entitled "Exploration of the reactivity profiles of quinonoid compunds : addition of unconventional nucleophilic species. 1.Jr.Project Fellow : 1 Position

Qualifications: Ist class M.Sc., Chemistry. Preference to be given NET or GATE (80% and above) qualified candidates.

Category IX: Grant-in-aid project entitled "Preparation of new ceramic oxides and generation of their XRPD patterns"

1. Jr.Project Fellow : 1 Position

Qualifications: Ist calss M.Sc. Physics

2. Sr.Project Assistant: 1 Positions

Qualifications: Ist class B.Sc., Chemistry.Experience in preparation and structure determination of mixed metal oxides preferred.

Stipend: Candidates with only Ist class qualification will be offered a consolidated stipend Rs.10,000/- for P.A. , S.P.F. Rs.7000/- and JRF Rs.6000/-, SPA Rs.4000/- as approved by this Laboratory.Stipend of JRF Rs.8000/-, SRF Rs.9000/- plus HRA at 15% is applicable only if the selected candidates are NET/ GATE (80% and above) qualified.

Age Limit: not exceeding 32 years for PA & SPF, 28 Years for JRF as on 19th July, 2004. The above post are tenable till the duration of the project. Candidates should submit their application on plain paper giving details of academic qualification, date of birth, experience, caste certificate ect along with attested copies of testimonials to the Controller of Administration, Regional Research Laboratory, Thiruvananthapuram - 695 019 on or before 19th July 2004. Candidates should submit separate applications, Incomplete and late applications will not be considered. Bringing in any influence, political or otherwise shall disqualify the candidates.
